What is DevOps?

DevOps is a movement, an approach that favors close collaboration between development (dev) and operations (ops) teams for any IT solution. Through this merger, the goal is to improve the quality of work and the relationship between these two teams, each of which has its own vision for achieving customer satisfaction — delivering new code on demand and maintaining service availability.

The concept originated at developer conferences seeking to understand and improve organizational performance. It was believed that integrating teams through a change in the structure of work, processes and tools would respond to the new realities of the constantly and rapidly changing business world .
